London Hat Week 06.-12.10.2020: Celebrating the Art of Hats

200 beautiful hats crafted with innovative ideas by 150 independent designers from 30 countries at London Hat Week Exhibition 2020.

The organizer invite you to visit the official London Hat Week Exhibition 2020 – To the Future and Back. The organizer provides the following information on its website:

„You will be able to enjoy the 200 most innovative and beautiful hats made by milliners from around the world inspired by different eras in one place.

The year 2020 has always seemed fictional when it was mentioned and now that we are close to this imaginary time, we would like to invite hat lovers to time travel to the future and back with creative hat designs. We are introducing a dual “future” and “retro” themed London Hat Week exhibition this year. You will be able to see hats created for both themes:

A. “Future” theme – milliners from around the world to craft hats which will show us their vision of the future in their hat designs, whether it’s inspired by space travel, virtual or imagined world, sci-fi movies, or made of environmentally friendly, high technology, non-traditional materials, by a 3D printer, or in fluid, in out of the world shapes.

B. “Retro” theme – milliners time travel to the past to show the glorious eras when people wore beautiful and elegant hats as the highlights of their daily outfits, you could choose to use vintage fabrics, recycled felt or accessories such as feathers, ribbons, and velvet, or you could try to re-create the elegant shapes and lovely details that have disappeared from the fashion and millinery scenes since 1920’s – 1960’s.

We invite you to come and enjoy the wild imagination and to recall and reflect on the beautiful moments captured by milliners from around the world in the form of hats! There will also be a hat pop-up shop for you to try on over 100 beautiful hats!“
